My Story
I grew up in Unity Saskatchewan and I danced under the mentorship of Nicole Riehl at Unity School of Dance. I fell in love for dance as most children do! As I graduated and continued on my dance career It has always been a dream of mine to offer dance to the whole community and do what I really love which is spend time with children. Now that I am a mom of five years I can tell you one thing, I will love your children like my own. Dance is an incredible way for kids to express themselves in a positive environment and to be part of a larger family.
Amy Briggs

I now have 28 years of dance experience in my life as I grew up taking all the genres and exams that were offered. While dancing at Unity School Of Dance under the mentorship of Nicole Riehl. My dream was one day to be an entrepreneur myself so I could allow all children the opportunity that my mom gave me.

I completed my CDTA Advanced Jazz and CDTA Advanced Tap, as well as my CDTA Tap Associates, and Tap Licentiate. I also have travelled as far as Vancouver to take on more dance education. I also completed all Graded RAD Ballet exams up to Grade 8 and Vocational RAD exams up to Advanced. I also have over 10 years of singing experience and I love song and dance and musical theatre!
I continued dancing myself after college in Saskatoon with a University group and participated in Abiding Lines Dance Company the first year. I taught at multiple dance studios around the province since I was 18 years old, and then back to my hometown to teach at Revolution Dance for 3 years until my handsome son was born.
This past summer I received my Dance Studio Owner Certificate from IAP Career College.
I am the proud owner of Flourish Studios which I started after having my son, and being an entrepreneur is the best decision I have ever made. Hair and makeup has always been a passion of mine and it's time to add my other passion, dance!
My favourite styles of dance are Tap, Jazz, and Hip Hop.

Elizabeth Erker
Dance Educator
Beth grew up training under Sitters School of Dance in Saskatoon Sk. She has been dancing for over 20 years in many disciplines and has completed many exams including all CDTA Jazz and Tap exams up to Advanced, all Graded RAD Ballet exams up to Grade 8 and Vocational RAD exams up to Advanced 2.
She currently is the Jazz Coach for the U of S Dance Team. As well as teaching Aerial Hoop and Adult Dance Classes at Saskatoon Pole & Dance Studio.
She has had many amazing experiences in dance including performing in Beauty and the Beast the musical, Fame the Musical, and All Shook Up the musical. She has been part of many groups and teams including the Saskatchewan Rush Dance Team, the Saskatchewan Rattlers Dance Team, the University of Saskatchewan Dance team and Inspired Movement Contemporary Group.
Beth has received her Bachelor of Science in Biology, and is in interest of pursuing Physiotherapy.
Her favourite styles of dance are Ballet, Lyrical, Contemporary, Jazz, Musical Theatre, and Pom.
Madison Wildeman
Dance Educator
Madison Wildeman is 21 years old and is enjoying life to the fullest with all that life has to offer. Madison danced in every genre and showed promising talent that was a treat to watch for everyone around.
Madison is now a licensed hairstylist as she attended the Hairstyling program in Lakeland College from 2020 to 2021. She has always had a creative flare for all things in the arts. She is also moving to Unity full time to pursue her goals and dreams.
Currently Madison is working at St.Joseph's Health Center in Macklin. Her passion is working with people and now children!
Madison received her Acrobatic Arts Module 1 and the Acrobatic Arts Progressions and Spotting for Aerials this past summer!
Her favorite styles of dance are Acro, Jazz, and Contemporary.
Devyn McLean
Choreographer
Devyn grew up in Unity Sk, where she started dance at the age of 5. She fell in love with dance where her passion started to bloom and her talent soared. Devyn participated in Ballet, Tap, Jazz, Hip Hop, Lyrical, and more!

Devyn then proceeded to further her dance career at Dance Connection in North Battleford under the instruction of Dalyn Sabin for her incredible Tap work. Her feet are unstoppable placing her with high awards at every competition! She also achieved her Advanced Tap exam with Honours and is humble as can be.

Devyn is now continuing her secondary education at U of S and is attending Kinesiology. Her large goals and dreams are to be accepted into the Chiropractic program.

Devyn's ability to work with children is a beautiful thing that doesn't go unnoticed. Her passion to detail and patience is key to success.

Lauren Gartner
Dance Educator
My name is Lauren Gartner and I am 22 years old! I was born and raised in Unity, SK where I began my dance training at Unity School of Dance, then continued on at Revolution Dance. I danced for 11 years. During those years I had the opportunity to assist in many classes with younger dancers!
I have trained in many different styles, like tap, jazz, ballet, and pointe, but my primary interest and love has always been for tapping! Throughout my dance career, I completed my Intermediate RAD ballet exam, as well as my CDTA Advanced tap exam! This year, I will be beginning my CDTA tap training as well.
After I graduated high school, I continued my education at the University of Saskatchewan. So far, I have successfully completed a 3-Year Bachelor of Arts with a major in Psychology. This year, I will also be finishing my Bachelor of Education, with a focus on secondary education in mathematics and biology!
I have many future plans and goals outside of the dance world as well. Currently, I am the Head Lifeguard at the Unity Credit Union Aquatic Centre. To continue with this, I am planning on taking my Lifesaving Instructor course, which will allow me to eventually teach Bronze Cross and Bronze Medallion courses. I also want to take further reffing clinics for volleyball so I can ref games at higher levels. Finally, I am excited to look for teaching jobs later this year, where I can hopefully coach volleyball as well!
The current certifications that I have are my CPR-C and First Aid/AED, my National Lifeguard, and Swim for Life Instructor. I also hold my Respect in Sport and Concussion Protocol certifications.
I am very excited to get back into the dance world, and to do so at Flourish Dance Studios! I cannot wait to see what this upcoming year has in store for everyone here!

Brianna Bakken
Choreographer
Brianna Bakken grew up in Unity, Saskatchewan where she attended Revolution Dance for 12 years. She started dancing at the age of 5 and has had a love for it ever since! She has taught and assisted classes since the age of 12 for students ages 3-16. Miss Brianna loves working with the younger dancers and seeing their smiles as they develop new skills.
Miss Brianna has trained in many styles throughout her dance career including Ballet, Pointe, Jazz, Tap, Lyrical, and Contemporary. She has successfully completed her RAD Advanced One Ballet Exam, as well as her CDTA Advanced Tap Exam. She has also completed her Junior Level Acro Certification with the Acro Dance Teachers Association.
During her previous years of teaching, Miss Brianna had students successfully complete their CDTA Tap Exams. She is so happy to be able to continue to share her love for dance and be a part of her students’ success.
After graduation, Brianna moved to Saskatoon where she attends the Edwards School of Business. She is now in her fourth year of Accounting with the future hopes of obtaining her CPA. Since moving away she has been fortunate to be able to continue to keep dance in her life by teaching classes and choreographing solos for the dancers in Unity.
Miss Brianna is very excited to be able to share her passion with the dancers at Flourish and be a part of the incredible staff! She looks forward to seeing everyone in the studio and watching her dancers grow this season!

Melany Sander
Choreographer
Melany grew up in Wilkie, SK where she began her dance career at the age of 5 with Wilkie School of Dance. She then transferred to Revolution Dance where she trained in tap, jazz, hip hop, lyrical, contemporary, ballet, and pointe. Through her years dancing, she completed multiple RAD ballet exams, as well as her Advanced CDTA tap exam.
After graduation, Melany attended post secondary in Calgary, AB where she obtained her Diagnostic Medical Sonography diploma. She then began working full time as a Sonographer at Battlefords Union Hospital, where she soon after bought a house and now lives in North Battleford.
Melany had the honour of being able to bring dance back into her life and began teaching at Wilkie School of Dance in the 2021/2022 dance season. She has the privilege to teach many different age groups and choreograph dances in many genres including tap, jazz, lyrical, hip hop, and contemporary.
Melany enjoys sharing her passion and love for dance with all her students. Watching her dancers grow and improve through the year is what drives her to keep working hard and coming up with new, creative ideas! She is so excited and honoured to join the amazing team at Flourish Dance Studios and can’t wait to see what an incredible year is in store for everyone!
